Our current effort: The Declaration of Intent Project Ask Senate and House Members to Declare Their Intent Regarding the Counting of Presidential Electors on Jan 6th UPDATE - The Project Continues - We just change the date! That's right. As proud as we are to have been a small part of the successful effort to get Senator Barbara Boxer to formally object to the unlawful electors from Ohio, we see no reason to stop our effort to get ALL Members of Congress to Declare Their Intent to do their sworn duty (for a change) regarding tainted presidential electors. In fact, we intend to broaden the effort by enlisting as many groups and individuals as we can in a drive to challenge elected officials, the media, and the general public to change the way we think about elections in our democracy. The new January 6th Coalition with continue with the basic goal of its seed project, but will go far beyond the short-term lobbying that was the main activity that won our small but vital victory. So, read the FAQ page to learn why we think this effort should be contnued and expanded. And if you'd like to know more or represent a group that would like to be part of the January 6th Coalition, just contact us to make it happen: thedeanpeople@comcast.net |
The (original) Declaration of Intent Project statement We have come to the conclusion that we can no longer tolerate the intolerable. We all watched in horror (many for the first time) as the movie Fahrenheit 9/11 opened by recounting how our political "leaders" sat idly by on Jan. 6, 2001 as the Congressional Black Caucus tried nobly but futilely to object to the unlawful Florida electors. But even Michael Moore seemed unaware of "the rest of the story." On Jan. 7th two Democratic Senators were asked by Tim Russert why they didn't come to the defense of their House collegues. Their answer (in unison): "Nobody asked us." Well this time, we thought we'd ask. And that you should ask too -- LOUDLY. |
